About

Robert Rexrode

I trained to be a criminal defense attorney at Federal Defenders of San Diego, Inc. (FDSDI). I was a trial attorney there for four years. While there I had hundreds of clients, tried dozens of cases before juries, and appeared multiple times before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Given the nature of practicing criminal defense in federal court in San Diego, I not only learned how to be criminal trial attorney, I also learned the ins and outs of immigration law.

After leaving FDSDI I opened my own law offices. My practice was, and continues to be, focused on federal criminal cases. There is no aspect of this practice I am unfamiliar with. I have represented people charged with being in the United States unlawfully, charged with smuggling contraband into the United States, charged with various types of white-collar fraud, charged with various crimes involving computers, and those charged under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO). I have represented people facing a few years in prison and those facing a mandatory life sentence if convicted.

My practice also includes defending those accused of crimes in California state court and those wrapped-up within the maw of the immigration services. I have taken gang cases to trial in state court and have successfully established the citizenship of some of my clients. I also continue to appear regularly before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
